A tall left-arm pacer who can swing the ball at high speeds, Nandre Burger was picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for INR 3.5 crore as an injury replacement for Sandeep Sharma during TATA IPL 2025. Coincidentally, it was RR who gave the South African fast bowler his IPL debut in 2024, and he picked up seven wickets in six games at a healthy average of 20.71. Despite injury troubles, Burger’s consistent performances in domestic cricket for a number of years led to his international debut in December 2023. He went on to represent SA across formats, all within the space of two weeks. The talented left-arm quick has 14 wickets in just three Test matches and 22 wickets in his first 14 ODIs. He has also built a good reputation in T20 cricket, both domestically and global franchise cricket, and will hope to get a long run for RR in 2026.
